Signage platform● In production

Mega Fresh Ad Hub

Digital signage for the Mega Fresh supermarket chain. Staff manage playlists, menu boards and promo slides from a web app, and Samsung TVs pair with a six-digit code and play the content fullscreen all day. It includes a promo card maker that removes photo backgrounds and prints cut-ready sheets, a cashier panel for the daily menu, and live updates that reach the screens within seconds. Backend tests and CI run on every push.

HomeLab

An always-on server on a spare laptop, built to learn the infrastructure side. Proxmox VE runs two virtual machines and three containers: Pi-hole for DNS, Caddy as a reverse proxy, Vaultwarden, Portainer, Uptime Kuma, and an Odoo 18 server on PostgreSQL with separate dev and production-style databases. Remote access goes through Tailscale, so no ports are open on the router. I use it to test Odoo automations with n8n. Next up: backups and a real restore test.

A full-stack online catalog for El Mejor Supermarket, with product listings, a dynamic interface and a backend connected to the store's data. It is the store's main digital presence.

Inventory Optimizer

A Python tool that decides which products go on a shelf when space is limited. It scores each product on demand, margin and turnover, solves the shelf as a bounded knapsack problem with dynamic programming, and compares the result with filling the shelf by hand.

Gianlexis Quiñones

Software developer and IT specialist

Practical software and systems for real businesses.

I'm a computer science graduate from the University of Puerto Rico at Bayamón. Since 2021 I've worked as the IT technician at a supermarket in Carolina. It's a small business, so I end up handling a bit of everything: the systems, the product database, the staff and the warehouse.

I also build the software the store needs, from its website to the signage on its TVs. Along the way I did two IT internships with Puerto Rico government agencies, where I worked on SharePoint, Active Directory, support tickets and apps that talk to Oracle databases.

Outside of work I run a HomeLab on a spare laptop to learn how this infrastructure works by building it. I'm fully bilingual in English and Spanish, and I'm looking for a software development or IT role where I can keep building practical tools.
